GeoStamp Camera does not collect, upload, or share your photos, location, or any personal data with external servers. Everything stays on your device. The only outbound request is reverse geocoding your GPS coordinates via OpenStreetMap to display a human-readable location stamp — no account required.

2 Permissions & Why We Need Them
Used solely to capture photos. No video is recorded. Images are processed on-device
to add the location/time stamp overlay and then saved to your device gallery
(Pictures/GeoStampCamera/). No images are transmitted to any server.
Used to read your GPS coordinates while the app is open (foreground only — never in the background). Coordinates are used to render the visible location stamp on your photo and to request a human-readable address from OpenStreetMap (see Third-Party Services below). Coordinates are never stored on any server, never used for advertising, and never shared with third parties beyond the geocoding request described below.
Required only to send GPS coordinates to the Nominatim reverse-geocoding API (OpenStreetMap) to resolve a city/region name for your photo stamp. No other outbound connections are made by the app.
Required on Android 9 and below to save photos to device storage. On Android 10+ this is handled automatically via the MediaStore API and no storage permission is requested.
3 What Data We Collect & How
On your device only:
-
🖼️
Photos — Saved to your device gallery at
Pictures/GeoStampCamera/as JPEG files. Never uploaded anywhere. -
⚙️
App preferences — Your chosen overlay style, color, date/time format, and similar UI settings are stored locally using Android DataStore. Never transmitted.
Sent externally (anonymously):
-
🗺️
GPS coordinates (latitude & longitude) — Sent to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim API to obtain a human-readable city/region name for your photo stamp. No identifying information (device ID, account, name) is included in this request. See §4 for details.
4 Third-Party Services
When the app resolves a city/region name for your stamp, it sends a HTTPS request
to nominatim.openstreetmap.org/reverse containing only your latitude,
longitude, and a standard user-agent string identifying the app.
No account, no device identifier, no personal information is included. OpenStreetMap's own privacy policy applies to this request: osmfoundation.org/wiki/Privacy_Policy.
No other third-party SDKs, analytics tools, advertising networks, or crash-reporting services are used in this app.
5 Data Retention & Deletion
All photos are stored only on your device and remain under your full control. You can delete individual photos or all GeoStamp Camera photos at any time through your device's gallery app or file manager.
App preferences are deleted automatically when you uninstall the app. We hold no data on any server, so there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf.
